1. The Madikeri Fort÷ The Madikeri fort was first founded by Mudduraja in 17th century and later captured by You Sultan. The fort with its historic roots and architecture also paves a way for a beautiful palace inside it which is now used as a deputy commissioner's office. There is an ancient church which is known as St. Marks Church and also a museum which contains all the historical arms and remuneration plus their clothes and some painting and sculptures which will take you back to that era. The fort is surrounded by lush green garden and is kept clean by the government. The museum is now protected by the archeological department of Karnataka.
2. Raja's seat÷
This is a small monument located on a high level ground with a commanding view of the cliffs and valleys to the west. It is a square shaped spot which was the recreational spot of the kings back then where they would sit and spend their leisure time. One can experience their good photography skills here.
3. Dubare Elephant Camp÷ This is something very rare and must see campaign where elephant training takes place . It is situated at a distance of about 29km from Madikeri on an island which was naturally formed by a river.
4. Abbey falls÷ The Abbey waterfalls is like the feather in the cap at this hill station which is situated at a distance of about 6kms from Madikeri. The water of this falls is due to Kootu Poley dam near the town. People can enjoy the cool water with their squad or family as this is a safe spot for every age group surrounded by nature. The beautiful and adventurous roads which carry you to this place is amazing as you feel like you're in one of those jungle movies. 5.Omkareshwar temple÷ This beautiful temple is situated in the heart of Madikeri which is built for worshipping Lord Shiva and contains the Shiv Linga. The most fascinating thing about this temple is the architecture!! The architecture of this temple resembles Islamic styles with a blend of Gothic style which is very rare to be seen elsewhere. The carving and the walls are spellbound and captivating to the heart with the sparkle of spirituality. The interior will give u peace of mind and body.
