Let's Rove into the Asia's largest Tulip garden in India!!!!

Srinagar, Uttarakhand

Location÷ Jammu and Kashmir, Cheshma Shahi Road, Rainawari, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

The nearest station is Srinagar and from there one can take a cab or other public transport medium to reach this garden which is 10kms away.

Timings÷ From 9.00am to 7.00pm

Best time to visit÷ March to May.

Popularly known as the Indira Gandhi memorial Tulip Garden, which is the Asia's largest Tulip garden, stands proud on the soil of Srinagar spreading it's blanket of colourful flowers far and wide attracting a various number of tourists every year. It lies on the foot of Zabarwan range adjacent to the famous Dal lake.

This garden blooms with all sizes and colors of tulips ranging from yellow, orange, red, violet and many more mainly during the March. There are more than 70 species of Tulips grown here along with other flowers like daffodils, hyacinths and ranunculus. This seven terraced garden was built to promote froliculture and tourism in Kashmir. When we stroll into this beautiful and majestic kaalin of soft tulips, we feel like swimming into the bleeful paradise , releasing all our stress as the fragrance and ambience helps in releasing the serotonin in our brain giving happiness and contentment.

Besides just roaming here, one can fulfill their nature photography dreams by clicking these wonderful flowers all bloomed and zoomed!!!!

The Tulip Garden festival÷

A festival is held every year in this garden known as the Tulip festival which invites all the visitors from around the globe to celebrate it with great enthusiasm. In this festival, many types of tulips and other flowers are exhibited which are delightful to eyes of the tourists. Every year many new species of flowers are added to increase the community and the garden's charm. Besides flowers, there are open green lands where people can sit and relax with their family and enjoy the atmosphere. Water channels flowing through the flower terraces and small fountains located at places in the garden adds to the beauty of this place. 

There are many decorated stalls and shops for shopaholics where one can buy those exotic Kashmiri shalls, hand bags, purses, ethnic fabrics and jhumkas. Also there are food stalls near the garden to relish some Kashmiri local cuisine . The festival is lit and commences during the late March month. A lot of nature lovers, florists, flower connoisseurs visit this festival which is truly one of its kind and a like a cherry on cake for Indian tourism.
